Welcome to the inaugural issue of A Day Without French Fries ... an online newsletter created by fans of Nora Roberts for fans of Nora Roberts.
Little did I know back near the end of February that by attending an online chat for Dean Koontz that I would ultimately be led to another terrific writer, Nora Roberts. On March 8, I entered Nora's folder at The Book Report (on AOL) and posted a challenge to fans of Nora's to "convince me" that I should read her books. Not only did I receive replies from many of her fans, but I also received a reply from Nora.
True to form, Nora never made suggestions---just asked me to share what I thought after I read the first two chapters of Sanctuary ... On March 10, I officially started to read one of her stories (other than the two chapters of Sanctuary) --- Sacred Sins. Now, seventeen books later, I would think it would be safe to say that I am hooked! 8-)
I am humbled by this lady's incredible writing talents. I am astounded that she finds the time to "speak" directly to us through the boards, e-mails, chats, etc.
This newsletter and the Noraholics' online club is just one small way for us to say, "Thanks ..." Just one small way of us to be able to give back something to a lady whom we admire so much ... Just one small way for us to come together as a "family" (i.e. create relationships---something near and dear to Nora's heart) with Nora and her incredible talents as the link that brings us together.
