Welcome to the second issue of A Day Without French Fries ... an online newsletter created by fans of Nora Roberts for fans of Nora Roberts.
Pressure. That is what I am feeling right now. Pressure. The first edition of A Day Without French Fries ... arrived without any expectations. We were pioneers ... blazing through cyberspace, daring to go where no Noraholic had gone before. Oops, a little heavy, huh?
Actually, I lie. (Nora has said that one of her greatest strengths as a writer is that she's a great liar. Hmm, maybe I have a small chance to be a "writer" after all!) There is no pressure because of the content, the heart of ADWOFF ... no, there is only pressure in that it's 1:20:44 PM on May 31, and I have yet to piece together all the great articles and columns! LOL
We could have rested on our laurels and said, "We did it! Now let's go back to the boards, the chats, etc." But that is not what it is all about. This newsletter and the Noraholics' online club is just one small way for us to say, "Thanks ..." Just one small way for us to be able to give back something to a lady whom we admire so much ... Just one small way for us to come together as a "family" (i.e. create relationships---something near and dear to Nora's heart) with Nora and her incredible talents as the link that brings us together.
What will you find in the second issue of A Day Without French Fries ...? I thought you'd never ask! Nora asked me if I would mind forwarding a copy of A Day Without French Fries ... to her pal, Pat Gaffney. I thought,Twist my arm! I forwarded it, and Pat responded back, amazed at what we put together (actually, she was <gushing> LOL) ... So, a brainstorm hit me. And when a brainstorm hits me, I tend to act upon it. I e-mailed Pat back and asked if she'd like to write an article about Nora. Imagine my delight when she said that she would love to! (Now who's <gushing>?)
Not only do we get to find out a little more about Nora from one of her pals, we also get some insight about her from her son, Dan.
The editors (Pat and Betty) and I have been in awe over the incredible talents of our fellow Noraholics. We hope that you will as well.
