Nora, from Down
Under
They're not giving me much down time here, and
when I have it, aol kicks me off before I can do
the boards. I'm hoping it eases up in a few
days.
I thought you could either cut and paste this or
pass it on to the group. Miss you guys.
Anyway, after many adventures I'll detail later, we
got here. Sydney's lovely, great shopping--already
got me a terrific opal lapel pin. The shopping
arcades are wonderful old buildings with fabulous
iron work and stained glass. Very European. After
the day to unwind and catch up on some sleep, they
put me seriously to work. Spent all day doing
interviews--and the JD mess has followed me down
here. Radio, TV, magazines. Very full day, with a
stop off to meet and greet at the Harlequin
offices. No real lunch as you have to talk to
people. A nice time, though. More interviews after
that, then a long, elegant dinner with Harlequin
brass at this nifty restaurant with an amazing view
of the city and the harbor. Even the ladies room
was all windows. Very cool. But exhausting.
Spent the next day doing the same, but feeling ill
and jet lagged. Really rugged. 15 interviews. God.
Finished with a book signing, which had TV cameras
and a stage where I was interviewed again and
talked to the crowd. Kinda surreal at that point.
LOL.
Came to new hotel where the conference will be
held. Gorgeous view of the water. I came in saw the
bath had a jet tub and separate shower. Couldn't
find the toilet. LOL. Looked everywhere, a little
desperate. Finally found it in what I thought was a
closet. Water closet. LOL.
Hit the bed and BW ordered me pizza. God bless him.
I hadn't eaten since a muffin at 7:00.
Conference stuff today, and it's busy. They're
getting their money's worth out of me.
<g>
But I saw Isabel Swift, and we're going to be
together through the weekend--then when I have my
free time in Cairns. Can't wait for that. I could
sleep for a month.
Give my love to everyone.

I'm at the RWA--Romance Writers of
Australia--Nat'l conference. Lovely group. And
there's always food! LOL. They bring me Diet
Coke--no DP here--by the pitcherful. God love
them.
The sky here is the most vivid blue I've ever seen,
and we've lucked into gorgeous weather so far. I've
been run off me feet, but have hopes for a little
down time here and there. No much, just a little.
BW has been a life saver.
I've got a view of the harbor out my hotel window,
and it's spectacular.
God bless these ladies, they've given me tons of
chocolate. LOL. And with luck I'll be able to take
a couple hours tomorrow morning and hit a wildlife
park. I gotta see a kangaroo.
Hope to check in later.
