Nora in Australia
This one date 8-15:
Some better now.
Yesterday I gave me workshop three times to three
separate smaller groups. I see the sense of this
here, as everyone gets a chance to go to all three
workshops by all three speakers through the morning
this way.
I have to say everyone is warm, friendly. Really a
delightful group of women--many of whom brought me
presents. <g>. I did another TV
interview--oh, and there was a TV crew in two of my
workshops. Two separate stations taping the whole
thing, and much of the day around here. Lots and
lots of press.
Lunch was amazing. Huge buffet of real food. All
kinds of food. Fantastic. And earlier there'd been
a break for morning tea with scones--pronounced
here with a short O and jam and whipped cream. The
scones look more like lovely sugar dusted biscuits
you cut in half, soft, a bit cakey. Glorious.
Then Isabel and I did this sort of informal chat
with the Harlequin authors. Main concern here is
that while they write more American style
characters--strong, feisty as they like to
say--their language is more Brit style which puts
them with a foot in both camps and makes sales to
Silhouette and to the States problematic.
Cocktail party, again with tons of food. But there
was no eating for me. More TV, signing books,
answering questions, drawing raffles. But they're
so nice you can't mind it. Tuckered out by nine and
back up here to order pizza and watch The Fifth
Element--pretty cool and weird--then sack out.
Keynote this morning, then God knows. But it's for
certain they'll have food available all day. I like
this about the Aussies. LOL.
I'm hoping, too, to find an e-mail from Amy when I
log on telling me the suit's been filed. Want that
step behind me.
Hope everyone's well and that I have time to see
what's up.
