Nora's England/Ireland Travels 2002
Dublin, June 7, 2002
It's good to be in Ireland again.
Endless airport stop. Plane delays, blah blah. Irritating and tiring.
But we were cheerfully met by Brian from the publisher and Matt our driver, and whisked to the Marrion for our stay. Dumped bags, got out what I'd need for my media day, ordered dinner, collapsed.
Good, solid night sleep in our lovely suite, and early rising for me to get ready for Breakfast TV, Irish style. Dress, slap on some makeup. Can't find the bloody hairdryer. Finally locate it in a drawer in the closet, but it's too late. Dash down to meet my girl her, Rosemary, who's delightful.
Off to the studio, where I'm put in the competent hands of the makeup/stylist who performs a miracle.
I get a full 12 minutes on air. You'd never get that much airtime in The States. Nice interview that covers everything, including the Ardmore business.
I've got a pretty full slate here today, that will--with my agreement--bleed over to one last print interview tomorrow morning. I said I would as it's for The Irish Times and the reporter is from Maryland.
Then I plan to hit Grafton Street. Am thinking about having an aromatherapy treatment here at the hotel after my shopping jaunt.
Cloudy here, but warmer than London, and maybe we'll see the sun eventually.
I don't have to see an airport for more than two weeks. Already more relaxed just knowing this.
