Carolyn's Story
Okay ... okay ... okay ... details!!!! Hmmmmmmm
... where to start??? 5 BB/N's, NORA, DAN, 3 other
authors, and 2 friends ... what great company!! Sue
and Tracey met Nora at the restaurant first ...
then Wendy and I showed up (on time!!! - I was
initially a half hour late meeting Wendy!! We made
up lost time on the drive to Sherperdstown!) After
waiting a little while for Jaci ... we all went in
to our table. Dan walked in and sat down with us
... to have a drink he said ... He said good night
with the rest of us SEVERAL HOURS later.
Jaci arrived with her mother-in-law ... lovely,
lovely woman! We all enjoyed her very much! (Let
her know that again Jaci!) we all ordered ... got
settled in ... I would go into detail about ...
well ... heck ... I will a little ... <grin>
... I ordered the last serving of the Tortellini
Carbonara Oh My, Oh My, Oh My ... lololol ...
everyone at the table can confirm just how happy I
was with my meal! Nora and Wendy both ordered Tuna
with Fettucini ... Sue the Raspberry Chicken ...
they were the one's sitting closest to me ... s o I
know what they had (Oh ... Tracey the London Broil
... Dan a house salad ... he had already eaten
earlier) Everyone dug in ... and then Pat Gaffney,
Mary Kay McComas, Beth Harbison ... and a friend of
Beth's (Helen) came in. They were a big surprise
for Nora. Talked the restaurant (finally!) into
letting us have the table behind us as well so we
could all sit close ...
Then the gift opening began ... Beth had a
framed picture of Turn The Page ... and a little of
the main street there for Nora ... Pat Gaffney a
pair of earrings Nora had oohed and ahhed over at
the beach ... The cards attached to the gifts, by
the way, were absolutely hysterical!! Nora turned
to Pat after opening her gift and Pat said , "Did
you read the card?" Nora said, "Yes ... Bitch!!"
(sensor alert!!) Lolololol. Had to do with where
the wrinkle cream was located in the cabinet ... MK
Help me out you all ... can't remember her gift!!
Then we started on some of the other's ...
Jaci ... and we all should have THIS as an
instruction manual!!!!!! gave Nora a copy of 101
Nights of Grrreat Sex ... based on the first
excerpt alone ... if Nora starts incorporating any
of these ... techniques ... into her books ...
watch out!!! And definitely have a spray bottle
handy ... ice cold! Ladies ... the pages are sealed
... you open them one at a time, and receive your
... instructions. Wow ... such ... imagination ...
and detail. I'm ordering my copy from Jaci ASAP ...
and want it delivered in a plain brown wrapper!!
lololol Then, Wendy and I ... fragrant candle and
sachet ... in the scent labeled ... what else? ...
Romance! Nina sent a HUGE bag of M & M's (of
course!) and one of the sweetest little beany
baby's you've ever seen. Magic the Dragon!!
<grin> Tracey's card ... contained a
"romance" story ... based on two people in their
... later years ... hysterical!! Glen shouted into
her good ear ... I Want You !!! But he didn't have
his teeth in so he just sprayed spit into her ear
... lolololol ... and so on in the same vein. Then
... a few gift boxes from all of us ... try this
... it looked adorable to open the box ... Nora
pulled out a jeweler's box ... ring size ... and
opened it to one lone Hershey's kiss, wrapped in
silver foil. Looks just perfect sitting there ...
Nora turned and opened it to show Mary Kay ... she
shouted with delight when Nora opened the box ...

Ohhhhhh ... let's see ... I'm losing some of the
memory of the last gift's ... I'll have to have
help from my partners in crime (so to speak!) A
huge bar of chocolate ... which Nora watched VERY
carefully ... along with her bag of M&M's ... a
necklace from Sue (the BB/N's) of a silver heart
with a key ... Then they brought in the cake ...
with sparklers flaring ...and we all sang Happy
Birthday ... and sounded doggone good too!! ...
Sliced the cake ... had a few tiffs over who got
corner pieces WITH roses (lolololololol) I still
think I should have gone ahead and claimed the
purple rose ... ah well ... we had to send
SOMETHING home for Bruce ... poor guy didn't get
any leftovers! Then a round of picture taking ...
Pat ... do something about that flash!!!! None of
us could see for a while ... so ... made our way
out ... helped Nora carry her loot ... <grin>
and took a few MORE pictures ... Said our good
nights ... and it was 11:00!!!! Yikes ... all of us
about to turn into pumpkins!! Hugs all around ...
hate to leave each other when we get together and
have such a good time!
And that comprises most of our evening!! Those
are a few of the details ... stay tuned ... I'm
sure everyone else can fill in more ...
